Welcome to
JUMPING SPIDER HOOD
At Jumping Spider Hood, we believe that some of the world’s most incredible personalities come in very small packages. We aren’t just a business; we are a collective of enthusiasts dedicated to the art and science of jumping spider husbandry.
Who We Are
We are a team of three dedicated keepers who found each other through a shared obsession with these charismatic arachnids. Together, we bring over 25 years of combined experience in jumping spider care, behavior, and habitat design.
Our diverse backgrounds allow us to look at the hobby from every angle:
Care & Husbandry: Ensuring every spider thrives with the best nutrition and environmental standards.
Behavioral Insights: Understanding the "why" behind those curious tilts of the head and unique hunting patterns.
Habitat Engineering: Creating bioactive and enrichment-heavy enclosures that mimic nature while looking beautiful in your home.
Our Mission
We realized that while the jumping spider community is growing fast, high-quality, reliable information can sometimes be hard to find. We decided to combine our decades of trial, error, and success to disseminate our knowledge to the community.
Whether you are a long-time "spider fan" or a brand-new "spider mom or dad" preparing for your very first eight-legged friend, we are here to support you. Our goal is to bridge the gap between curiosity and confident keeping, providing you with the tools and education needed to give these tiny hunters the best lives possible.
Why We Do It
Jumping spiders have a unique way of changing minds. We’ve seen firsthand how these curious creatures turn "arachnophobes" into "arachnophiles." We are here to celebrate that bond and ensure that every future owner feels empowered to start their journey.
Welcome to the neighborhood. We’re glad you’re here.
JumpingSpiderHood.com proudly supports the Xerces Society, which works to protect insects and other invertebrates through conservation, science, and education - and we encourage you to support their important work too.
